Text Diff Checker
Paste two versions of a text to see what changed, line by line, with the changed words highlighted. Ignore case or extra spaces if they do not matter, then copy or download the result as a standard .diff file. Everything runs locally in your browser; your text is never uploaded.

Troubleshooting
Lines look identical but are marked as changed
They differ in invisible whitespace, such as a trailing space or a tab instead of spaces. Tick Ignore extra spaces.
The whole text shows as changed
One side may be a single long line, or use different line endings after a copy from another app. Check that both texts are split into lines the same way.
patch rejects the downloaded .diff
Apply it to the same original text you compared, with options such as Ignore case off. The file names in the header are original.txt and changed.txt; pass the target file to patch directly.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
What do "Ignore case" and "Ignore extra spaces" do?
Ignore case treats "Hello" and "hello" as the same. Ignore extra spaces treats runs of spaces or tabs as one space and ignores spaces at the start and end of a line.
What is the .diff download?
A standard unified diff, the format used by git and the patch command, with three lines of context around each change.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit, but very large texts depend on your device. When two texts are almost completely different, the changed part is shown as one removed block and one added block to stay fast.
